Genesis 45:15 (NKJV)
“Moreover he kissed all his brothers and wept over them, and after that his brothers talked with him.”
The brothers could still not trust Joseph’s words until he kissed them and cried over them. It was only then that they could believe that he meant what he was saying and only after that, did they slowly start coming out of their shock.
When we forgive those who hurt us, we must go beyond words to show actions that prove our words. Joseph had promised them a place to stay in Goshen and told them they were safe in Egypt, but they could not believe until he did something. Let’s be vulnerable and show practical acts of love to those who offend us, so that they may believe that we are no longer angry or bitter towards them.
“Father, may my actions speak louder than my words. Help me overcome any lingering bitterness in me, so that I can love and touch those who had offended me in the past. I pray this, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
