SWEET OR BITTER ELOQUENCE

Genesis 49:21 (NKJV)

“Naphtali is a deer let loose; He uses beautiful words.”

A deer let loose is jumpy and moving all the time. So it is with those with eloquence in the use of words. Their words are captivating and inviting. Some have been endowed with such a beautiful grace to write or speak with such oratory and eloquence that none can feel unmoved at their presentation.

But this gift can be used for good as well as for evil. Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and several other gruesome dictators were known to be very powerful communicators.

Lord, may my words not just be beautiful but full of truth and leading others to find truth. May my communication skills not lead to bitterness but sweetness in the heart of the hearers. I ask, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
