Genesis 24:57-58 (NKJV)
“So they said, ‘We will call the young woman and ask her personally.’ Then they called Rebekah and said to her, ‘Will you go with this man?’ And she said, I will go.’ “
Involve the bride in the marriage process. We shouldn’t just treat her like a commodity for sale. Her thoughts count. Her feelings count. Her timing counts. Rebekah knew this was the Lord’s doing and she had no fear. When her family wanted to keep her for a few more days, she opted to go immediately. What faith. I respect Rebekah so much for this. She knew what God was doing and she was willing to move with God.
As a bride to be, don’t delay the hand of God. Don’t sit back as a bystander. Get involved. Speak your mind. Arise and respond to God. Let your family know your heart and your convictions. Let it be clear to all what you sense is God’s will for your life.
“Oh Lord, raise daughters who know Your will and Your timing. Oh Lord, us parents, please give us reasonable hearts that involve our girls in the marriage process. O Lord, let all happen in Your timing and not ours. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
