EXPOSING TRUE GRACE

May 20, 2019

Romans 6:4 (NKJV)

“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

The work of grace is summarized in this verse above. Jesus’ death and resurrection is an invitation into an initiation: an initiation into death and into life. We who believe, have been buried with Him in death, and have publicly testified of this experience through water baptism. For all who truly believe in the work of grace, we must first accept that grace has placed us into the death of Christ, that our death may be swallowed up in His death, for His death is the power of God revealed over our death.

And having died with Christ, God’s grace raises us up together with Jesus into newness of life. The end product of true grace, is making men walk in the life of Christ. If the grace of God leaves us in the death of the old life, then the work of grace is incomplete. Any life that has been buried and resurrected in and with Christ will have the marked symbols of the Christ life in clear display. This is the outward sign that grace worked. And we must always look out for it.

“Lord, I know grace has worked in me and is still working in me. I cling to Your grace, but most importantly, I know Your grace upholds and supports me, that the life of Christ may never be hidden in my life. Amen.”
