Romans 8:11 (NKJV)

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

The presence of the Holy Spirit makes a world of difference and that’s why we cannot dare live in this world without the active working of the Holy Spirit in us. Here is the great wonder and mystery. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is available to us and dwells in us, and by reason of His awesome resurrection attributes, the selfsame Spirit is working in us, bringing life to our mortal bodies, so that death cannot infect or infest or penetrate to our spirits, through the deadness of our bodies.

Put differently, my body cannot be an agent of sin because God’s Spirit overwhelms it, transforms it and gives it life. So rather than being a conduit for and a conductor of sin, it now has the life of God; becoming dead to sin and now alive to God. Knowing that my greatest weakness resides in the mortal body, once Jesus’ resurrection power has overcome that socket, there is nowhere else for sin to plug into, thereby freeing my entire being to live the free and full life of God, under the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit. Wow! Such wonder of God.

“Oh! How I long for more and more of the Holy Spirit. Oh! How I appreciate the role of the Holy Spirit in my victory over sin and sinfulness. I love You Holy Spirit. Amen.”
