Romans 8:29-30 (NKJV)

“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son…Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”

In Christ, our spiritual journey is a progression of revelation and experience. We are not just saved from sin, and then that’s the end of the journey. Not at all! The end goal of God for each of us is that we should be conformed to the image of Christ, that He may indeed be the Firstborn among many brothers and sisters who take on His image. But to get there, God first chose us ahead of time to be among those wonderfully selected to receive this blessing. And then He called us to Himself, and once we responded to His invitation by faith, He cleansed us and made us right with God, removing all barriers that had existed between us and God through sin.

And to those who found grace to keep responding to Him, God also

“gave them His glory.” – NLT. To be conformed to the image of Christ is to receive the glory of God. Starting with predestination, God’s goal is to take us through the progressive journey of bringing usinto His glory. Those who are in Christ, are on this journey; experiencing the double paradox of having arrived inside the glory of God and yet journeying into His glory.

“Thank You Lord for giving me the honor of being called and giving me the grace to respond to the call. I receive by faith, all of Your glory as part of my inheritance, even as I journey with You into that inheritance. In Jesus name. Amen.”
