Romans 11:4-5 (NKJV)
“But what does the divine response say to him? ‘I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.’ Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant…”
God, in His sovereignty, power and grace, will always reserve for Himself, a remnant of people who believe. Whether it’s in Noah’s days or in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, God preserved a remnant for Himself, and these were according to the election of grace. Likewise in Elijah’s days, there were seven thousand men who had not followed the popular religion of Baal worship but had stayed true to the worship of Jehovah. Grace calls out a people to God, out of the chaos and madness of an evil generation. God will never allow darkness to sniff out His light.
We must believe that there is a remnant that God is always keeping for Himself. In every situation and location, the plan of God is to preserve a remnant. Although God wants everyone saved, yet we know that only a remnant will dare to turn against the tide of evil that’s sweeping across the world. We may not know who these remnants are, but we need to believe they are there. We also need to work to remain in the grace of God lest we ourselves become castaways with the Church that’s going astray.
“Lord, I am part of the remnant. I know there are others You’ve hidden elsewhere and I praise You for this. As remnants, may we not be silent and hidden away. Help us to always speak truth with boldness. In Jesus name. Amen.”
