SERVICE AND HOSPITALITY!

Romans 12:13 (NLT)

“When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”

We exist to serve each other, and the needs of one should be seen as the need of all. We should not so compartmentalize church, that we don’t know what other members of the church are going through. Individualism is the growing cancer of the modern age, and this cancer has crept into the church. We have become so self-centered and individualistic that we are unaware and unconcerned by the needs of others around us; even if they are committed members of the church. This ought not to be so.

We are one Body and we should be there for one another. What hurts you, hurts me. We need to practice more hospitality and largeness of heart. We need to see how to meet the needs of our loved ones and our brethren in Christ. The Bible says, ‘Always be eager to practice hospitality.” Welcoming people home and helping people feel they belong to a family is a ministry and a commandment. We need to therefore show eagerness and readiness to be hospitable and willing to assist. Look out for your brethren in need and find ways to meet such needs. This is the Christian life.

“Lord, You have blessed me not just for myself but for the sake of others around me. It is Your will therefore that I use the things You’ve given me, to be a blessing to others. In Jesus name. Amen.”
