Romans 12:16 (NLT)
“Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!”
The simple-minded man is simple and spiritual. It’s simplicity that makes it easy to live with others. When people push you down and do things to break fellowship, you need to stay simple, make excuses for them, and keep relating. The simple-minded man relates even when people demean him and make him look irrelevant. To live in harmony with others require a great deal of simplicity, even when it sometimes make you look foolish.
The simple-minded man also enjoys the company of all types of people. He does not discriminate or choose friends by social class. He can relate with ordinary people as well as with highly placed people. In his simplicity, everyone feels at home with him. He does not judge you based on any social status criteria and he is always ready to listen and learn. He doesn’t come across as someone who knows it all. He is humble and open minded. To be simple minded is a great blessing from God and to be spiritual means we should have a simple, approachable and humble disposition.
“I cry for this Lord. I cry for simplicity. Deliver me from my complex personality Lord. I need to be like You Jesus, who in Your simplicity, displayed the aura and glory of the Most High God. Amen.”
