Genesis 3:15 (NKJV)
‘And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; he shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”
While this is a prophetic scripture referring to Jesus the Son of God, it also has definite implications for the regular sons of Adam. For me, that means I must live in the consciousness that I am in a battle, a battle that has prophetic backing from God Himself and a battle that is of ancient origin. The warfare with Satan is ordained by God. Expecting it to go away is simply unrealistic. It’s here to stay until God puts Satan away.
For this reason, always live in warfare mode. Don’t let your guards down because Satan’s guards are never down. He’s out to fulfill his part of the prophecy. He may not be able to destroy me for I am hid in Christ, but he may succeed to bruise my heel. And mind you, even that can be very painful. So live in the consciousness that he is out to do his work. I must always live in the readiness to bruise his head, through Christ. Therefore, always be battle ready.
‘The battle lines have always been drawn; I had just not seen the lines very clearly. He’s out to bruise my heel and to cause me as much pain as he can, even if he cannot destroy me. But in Christ, I must crush his head. I must launch out the full frontal attack to crush him. That’s the prophetic expectation laid upon me. So, Lord, I will by your strength, crush Satan’s head whenever I see it come up around me. Help me see it, help me be vigilant. Help me crush it, in Jesus name. Amen.’
