Genesis 49:8 (NKJV)

“Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise; Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; Your father’s children shall bow down before you.”

More than ten positive & prophetic statements and descriptions are attributed to Judah, the most of any of the brothers. Amazing. But one of the most interesting was that he would overcome his enemies and from him shall Shiloh come; the scepter of the Almighty and from Him shall obedience come from all peoples. The prophecy concerning the coming Messiah was clearly declared and it, of course, became a reality.

It is not clear why God chose Judah, but the reality was that in Him, eternal prophecy was eventually fulfilled.

“Oh! That God’s eternal purposes for the nations might also be connected to me and my lineage, for generations to come. What great honor! Here I am Lord, use my family and me to touch Your world. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
