Genesis 49:16-17 (NKJV)

“Dan shall judge his people…Dan shall be a serpent by the way, A viper by the path, That bites the horse’s heels…”

Men who are called to be leaders or judges in the land need to be men of integrity and transparency. These ought to men of truth and honor; of whom cannot be found underhandedness of any kind.

But not so for Dan. Though chosen to be a judge in Israel, he was a cunning serpent who operated with cunning accuracy such that by the time he struck, there was no chance for both the horse and the rider.

As leaders, may we never be like Dan. May we be so full of truth that no one can ever second guess our intentions or motives. There must be nothing sinister about us neither anything underhand. May our transparency be clear to all.

“Amen, Lord. May that be so for my leadership and me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
