1 Samuel 13:2
“Saul chose for himself three thousand men of Israel. Two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in the mountains of Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. The rest of the people he sent away, every man to his tent.”
God is building a spiritual army. God is looking for men and women who are willing to make extreme sacrifices for their King. He is looking at His people and separating them into units for the battle of the end time. This is not a physical battle but a spiritual contest for the souls of men and for the growth of the kingdom of God.
Soldiers are divided into different cadres and categories based on their capacities and skills. Not all soldiers carry the same grace, but they are all in the same Force. In the same way, in God’s Church, there will be people with different graces, but all contending for the same goals. Are you selected or left out?
It is sad to see so many people today in the Church who don’t have any specific role to play in God’s end-time agenda. They spend their days busy pursuing their private agendas but have no sense of calling or commitment to God’s plans for His world. This is very unfortunate.
God is recruiting men and women to join His team. Just as Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee and called His first disciples, He is walking in the midst of His people today and calling those whose hearts are ready and prepared. He is not looking for perfection, but for hearts that are loyal and can be trained.
Once Saul began his reign, one of the first things he did was form his army. He chose two thousand men for himself, and one thousand for Jonathan. He then sent all the others back home. So many men must have felt disappointed because they were not among the chosen. Do you have a strategic work you are doing for Jesus?
If the Lord is putting together an elite force to serve with Him in these last days, why would you be left out? Is it a thing of joy to be sent home when others are contesting for the kingdom of God? This type of shallow living is a disgrace to the King who died to save us. We cannot exempt ourselves from this service if we truly love Him.
