“And Jacob called his sons and said, ‘Gather together, that I may tell you what shall befall you in the last days:'”
A father’s words are creative and prophetic. The words spoken by a godly parent can mold and fashion the destiny of a child and therefore caution, and careful wording is needed when we talk to our children.
Jacob on his death bed began to make declarations that could only be the words of God Himself being declared over these children, for each was a prophetic statement that became descriptive of what those tribes turned out to be.
Guard your tongue when speaking to your children. Guard jealously the words that come from your mouth, even in moments of anger; because these words can define the destinies of your children. As a godly parent, your words are life; speak them very graciously, with knowledge and great restraint.
Beware: The future of your children just may lie in the power of your tongue.
“I have failed many times here, but I know that I can repair the wrong words spoken in the past. Lord, I will speak more guardedly to my children and to those I love, even from this day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
