Psalms 9:1 (NKJV)
‘I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.’
Praising the Lord is not, first of all, an external activity as is usually represented by singing, dancing, and music. While all these may indeed be a part of the praise experience, praise is essentially a thing of the heart.
God does not check how beautiful the musical instrumentation sounds or the beauty of the lyrics and voice arrangement. God is looking at our hearts. Is this praise coming from the depth of the heart? Is this praise from the ‘whole heart’? Those who have a deep attitude of praise from the depth of their hearts do not have a problem telling it to the world. Those who struggle with telling of the goodness of the Lord, have not had His praise engraved into the deepest parts of their hearts. Sharing the testimony of God’s goodness should be the natural outflow of a heart filled to the full, with praise.
Is your heart full of praise and testimony to your world?
‘Lord, I’ll bring you more than a song. I’ll come to you with a heart full of gratitude for all the marvelous things you have done in my life. Help me to see and tell of these wonderful blessings that you have showered me with. May my every waking hour be in reflection of your goodness and in appreciation of your blessings to me. For you have been extremely generous and merciful. That I am among the privileged few that have come to experience salvation through Jesus, is an immeasurable blessing of its own. That I have been called thereafter to serve you by telling men of your salvation, is something that I can never repay you for. For my wonderful family, for your daily provisions, for all you keep doing to me- I cannot help but truly praise you, my King, from the depths of my heart. Thank you a million times over. Amen.’
