THE FRUIT OF ANGER

March 17, 2017

Genesis 4:12 (NKJV)

‘When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.’

It’s sad but when we stab our brethren in the back, the pains from their lives cry out to God, even against us. When someone hurts you and you launch out against him, it is very dangerous for two reasons. Firstly, any response in anger may likely lead you beyond the borders of your original plan. Cain may not have intended to kill Abel, but when it was done, there was nothing he could do about it. Acting in anger or reacting to a situation in the heat of the moment may cause you to say or do something you may regret for a long time.

Secondly, such spontaneous reactionary actions may lead to a curse that we cannot bear to live with. One of the reasons why many do not prosper and continue to live in physical and spiritual penury are because of actions they’ve committed against their brethren.

The fruit of backstabbing and emotionally killing your brethren is poverty and heavenly rejection. Is it really worth responding in anger?

‘Irrespective of the provocation, Lord I pray you prevent me from responding in anger because I know I cannot bear the pain and punishment that will accompany my angry behavior. Lord, never let me enter into the abode of Cain, in Jesus name. Amen.’
