PREPARE TO FIGHT

Genesis 14:14 (NKJV)

‘Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan.’

Two major lessons can be learned from this scripture:

  1. Fight for your brethren. Love commands you to fight for your family and your people. When your family is in dire straits under Satanic captivity, that’s not the time for analysis and debate; it’s a time to fight and confront the enemy on their behalf. Yes, Lot had himself to blame for making the wrong choices, but Abram was not concerned with that. Abram went to fight for his loved ones.

2) Train your household to fight. When Abram heard what had happened to Lot, he took his people and went to war to free Lot. He had his 318 trained men in his household. Abram knew there would be battles in the future, so he prepared for it and trained his men in advance. He did not begin to train his family on the day of battle. We need to do likewise. Invest in training your family members when there is no warfare, so they are ready to fight on the day of battle.

‘Here are my two critical prayers Lord. Father, may I spend quality time with my family so that they learn to fight on the day of battle. And may I be Your instrument to free members of my family from the captivity of Satan. These I ask, in Jesus name. Amen.’
