Genesis 17:7 (NKJV)

‘And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.’

God’s promise to Abram was not simply to him alone but to his generations after him. The covenant and the blessings were not for him alone but to his descendants after him. This is the extent of the blessings extended to the man who, God finds blameless.

And so can it be with me. I am expecting and praying that God’s covenant of blessings would extend beyond me into the descendants of my offspring; that my children and children’s children yet unborn, will partake of the covenant of blessings. Amen.

‘O God, You who showed mercy to Abraham. Let this same mercy be extended to me who are Yours through Christ. May my descendants experience and enjoy Your covenant blessings, for many generations to come, because I have believe in and entered in Christ. Amen.’
