PRACTICE HOSPITALITY

May 26, 2017

Genesis 18:4-5 (NKJV)

‘Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant.”…’

Though it was sudden, Abraham reached beyond himself to insist that these strangers find hospitality in his home. He didn’t know who they were, yet he pleaded that they be refreshed by his family. And when the visitors agreed, he prepared a great feast for them, with great haste.

O! That we may practice such hospitality. O! That we may not grudgingly serve people who come to our homes. O! That heaven may be glad to bless us because of our lavish service to those we do not know. In practicing hospitality, we open up our lives to heaven’s blessings.

‘Lord, I open up my family to You as I welcome people to my home. I will seek to be generous to as many people as possible for I know this pleases Your heart. Be gracious to bless my family and I, in Jesus name. Amen.’
