Genesis 30:22 (NKJV)
“Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.”
It took time for Rachel to conceive eventually but she finally did because she kept waiting and praying. Despite the fact that she had asked her maid to bear her children from Jacob and notwithstanding the fact that Jacob never prayed for her to have children; yet she kept praying and kept believing. And because of her persistence and faith, Joseph – the beloved of God and the Prince of Egypt – was born.
Don’t accept less than what God can do. Keep insisting on the best that you know is before you. Don’t be in a hurry to take a short cut to your destiny (as Sarah had done with Hagar and Rachel had done with Bilhah). Joseph was God’s will for Rachel, but she’d accepted several other sons to be born to her through Bilhah. Joseph was God’s plan for Rachel. And Joseph eventually became the savior of the whole clan of Jacob.
Don’t just multiply; seek God’s pattern and God’s best.
“I will persevere and endure until I enter into the fullness of all that God has in store for me and my generation. I will not settle for less. O God, I will not settle for less; don’t allow me to find satisfaction in less. Amen.”
