PROSPERITY THROUGH DECEPTION

August 17, 2017

Genesis 30:43 (NKJV)

“Thus the man became exceedingly prosperous, and had large flocks, female and male servants, and camels and donkeys.”

Although Laban himself was a deceiver, Jacob exceeded him in this skill. And although it was a good thing to want to develop his own resources for posterity sake, it was utterly scandalous the strategies Jacob employed to achieve this. The END does not justify the MEANS because the road to the goal is as important as the goal itself.

Jacob became “exceedingly prosperous,” but this was through willful deception. May we seek to prosper and increase but may we pay careful attention to how we get there. Defrauding anyone to prosper is not acceptable. We must stay loyal to whatsoever enterprise we belong to and never use the industry for personal gain, outside the jurisdiction given to us. We must never use personal position, skill or power to promote ourselves and demote the enterprise or others in the team.

Seek only the prosperity that comes from above. Every other prosperity is devilish.

“Lord, how I desire to prosper in every area of endeavor but as You are showing me now, may I be extremely watchful about how this prosperity is achieved. I pray that nobody ever feels defrauded or suffers loss because of my drive to prosper, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
