Genesis 31:6-7 (NKJV)
“And you know that with all my might I have served your father. Yet your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me.”
Jacob was just as crooked and deceptive as Laban, and as it is characteristic of man, Jacob only recounted all the things he did right and the things Laban did wrong. Yes, Laban cheated him and changed his wages, but Jacob also defrauded him in managing his flocks.
When giving an account of events, truthfulness is essential. When we only account for our positives and recount the negatives of others, we have not shown ourselves as children of light. The Light reveals all and manifests all and shows all exactly as it is. The light makes no choices, neither has preferences.
As sons of light, let’s always provide honest accounts of events as they happened.
“Lord, hold my heart and control my tongue. I have noticed that I am speaking too much of late and in much talking, dishonesty is bound to creep in. Oh Lord, may my words only be one hundred percent truthful and honest, at all times. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
