Genesis 41:39-40 (NKJV) 

“Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word…’”

There is power in the twin sisters of discernment and wisdom. The man with these qualities is stronger than a mighty army and more secure than a great fortress. With these twin qualities, power and promotion are inevitable. People need and trust in men who possess these qualities and are willing to grant them their wishes so as to keep them close.

Joseph was transported from being a prisoner to becoming prime minister of Egypt simply because he could discern the future problem of Egypt and proffer wise solutions to Egypt’s impending disaster. That’s what discernment and wisdom can do for a man.

Since these come from God, it is vital that we seek His face ever so earnestly so that He can mercifully shower us with these twin gifts and thereby bring us into the place of our destiny. 

“I need Your discernment and wisdom Lord. I know that having one without the other is not complete. Pour out an overflow of both in my life. Amen.”
