Genesis 42:1 (NKJV)
“When Jacob saw that there was grain in Egypt, Jacob said to his sons, ‘Why do you look at one another?’”
Don’t die in silence. Even though there is no food where you are, there is food somewhere else. The fact that there is a lack of resources in your present location does not mean that there are no resources in the land. Sitting in one place and looking at each other in times of scarcity, is a death wish. In times of lack, more effort is needed to get the resources required for life and sustenance.
Jacobs sons were sitting still while the famine was consuming them all around. They were not thinking outside the box. They were not asking the important questions of “where and how.” They only sat down and engaged in complaining and wishful thinking.
In dire straits, we need to be creative and engaging. Immobility is a recipe for extinction.
“Father, keep me thinking creatively and strategically whenever I am in a tight corner and don’t have an easy way out. Deprive me of the pleasure of empty complaining and wishful thinking. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
