A RIGHT PLACE AND TIME

November 5, 2017

Genesis 43:30 (NKJV)

“Now his heart yearned for his brother; so Joseph made haste and sought somewhere to weep. And he went into his chamber and wept there.”

There is a right place and time for everything, and we must have complete control of our entire being so that we do not do the right thing in the wrong place and the wrong time.

For Joseph, it was not wrong to weep as he saw his beloved younger brother Benjamin. That was a legitimate emotional expression. But crying then would have been a right thing done in the wrong place and at a wrong time.

Know the right place and the right time for every action. Look at the bigger picture of what is at stake and let our decision be based on the overall effect of our actions and not just on our desire to express ourselves in the present.

“I will not be a captive to my emotions or my human desires, Lord. I will only act out the script You’ve written out for me. I don’t know what’s the right time or the right place. Please show me, Lord, how to act or react correctly, in the most appropriate and suitable way. I pray this, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
