A HIGHER PERSPECTIVE

Genesis 45:7-8 (NKJV)

“And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you who sent me here, but God…”

Wow! Look at that perspective. Joseph had had time to reflect and understand the ways of God. While he could have held a grudge against his brothers, he had come to the point of seeing the sovereign hand of God in working out his destiny and the fate of his brethren. He saw the entire ordeal of his forceful extraction to Egypt as God’s express hand at work, not the work of his brothers. What a way to see things!!

Perspective affects actions and attitude determines behavior. The way I see things that happen to me or those around me will ultimately influence my actions and reactions to them. We need a God-perspective; a higher understanding and interpretation of the events of this life – whether good or bad. If I have God’s perspective, then my behaviors will be positive and in line with heaven’s mandate. If I live by human perspective, I will not only suffer personal agonies; I will express my pains in the wrong ways as a reaction to the events that happen around me or to me.

“Lord, may I grow to see life as You see them. I don’t ask for a change in my actions; I ask for a change in my perspective of life and the things that happen to me. This I pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
