YOUR FINAL WORDS

November 30, 2017

Genesis 47:29 (NKJV)

“When the time drew near that Israel must die, he called his son Joseph and said to him, ‘Now if I have found favor in your sight…Please do not bury me in Egypt’”

One of greatest mercies God can give a man before he dies is to know when death is around the corner. Such a privilege allows a man to put himself in order and to put his house in order. Such a man can put in place whatever last things that need to be done or said to his loved ones.

Jacob enjoyed this privilege.

However, since we cannot be sure of what and how our dying moments would be like, there is wisdom in sharing our dying thoughts with our loved ones early enough; so that we don’t lose the opportunity to speak our dying words with our posterity. Jesus knew He would have to die early in life, so He kept sharing His wise words and deeper secrets with His inner circle, long before the time of His arrest.

Be wise. Put down your final thoughts and expectations for your children and your inner circle, while you have the opportunity.

“Give me the chance to do this O my Lord I pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
