Romans 3:8 (NKJV)
“—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their condemnation is just.”
There is nothing as painful and hurtful as being slandered. When people say you said something you did not say, and they report it as fact and true, this is slanderous. Yet, the reality of life is that people will speak evil of us and report lies as truth. In such cases, what must we do?
Well, one thing we must not do is slander back or fight back in the flesh. Of course, there is nothing wrong in speaking up and stating the truth, but don’t let your fight be in the flesh and don’t seek your victory in the flesh. There’s a victory that comes from above, and there is a condemnation that God gives to slanderers. Leave the final judgement to God. State your truth; correct the lie where you have opportunity to do so, but leave the judgement to God. He is more than able.
“Lord, I refuse to fight in the flesh. To all those who will slander me, your judgement is with God.”
