Romans 3:20-21 (NKJV)
“Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight…But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed…”
I am so glad that I can never be made right by the deeds of the Law. If my eternal fate is to be only determined by my actions, then I am totally doomed. My daily life choices cannot be the only measure that finalizes my entry or refusal into eternal life. Thank God that “by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified.” Thank God that now, there is a “righteousness of God (that’s) apart from the law.”
NLT says, “no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.” The law is good because by the law, we get to realize that we cannot be righteous by ourselves. In fact, the more we try to be righteous by the law, the more the law reveals our failures. The good news of the law is that it condemns me to sin, always showing my sinfulness despite my every effort. That’s why I rejoice that my salvation, my redemption and my justification – is not by the law. God has revealed a better way. Halleluya.
“Amen. My acceptance and eternal destiny is not directly tied to my actions, for I know that I am a sinner and only God can justify a sinner, not by the life of the sinner, but by God Himself. Amen.”
