Romans 5:1 (NLT)

“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.”

The most important thing in life is to have peace with God. There’s nothing more crucial to a man than having God at peace with him, and he also being at peace with God. The opposite of peace with God is a scary option; a choice that you don’t want even your enemies to have. Peace with God is that deep inner assurance and reality that God looks upon you with joy and pleasure, and you look back at Him with confidence, certainty and rest. On both sides, there are no struggles, no disappointments, no unrest.

Those who do not have Jesus as their justifier and atoner do not know this type of peace. Such people spend all their years seeking ways to please themselves or please God, by themselves, which in itself is vanity. But we have Jesus as our Lord, and as NKJV puts it, “we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Because of Jesus, we have peace with God. Jesus makes it possible for us to have peace with God, and God to have peace with us. Without Jesus, there is no alternative and no hope for peace; and a life without such peace is a life of futility.

“Thank You Jesus that I don’t find peace with God by my efforts. Lord, because You are the One who initiated this peace deal, I plead with you to sustain and uphold the deal, by Yourself. In Your name I pray. Amen.”
