Romans 6:6 (NKJV)

“knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.”

If I don’t have the spiritual revelation of what Christ has done for me and the implication of that on my spiritual life, then I may remain in bondage although freedom is in sight. It is possible to have the keys of deliverance in your hands and still live in the dungeons of slavery, simply because you did not know that the keys you had were the secret to your freedom.

I must know the truth, and live in the knowledge of truth, for the truth to set me free. The truth is this: our old man of sin has been crucified with Christ and the body of sin has been done away with. The truth is this: we are no longer slaves to sin, if the old man has been crucified with Christ. If this truth is true, then we must operate in the liberty that this truth provides. I am free not because I have any strength of my own, but because the old man of sin is dead; and as I acknowledge this truth, this becomes the key that unlocks my victory. Believe the truth and practice the truth, and you will enjoy freedom from slavery to sin and death.

“I am not dead. I am not a slave to sin. By Your death Lord, You put an end to the power of sin over me. I believe this truth and by Your grace, I will live in this truth. In Your name I pray. Amen.”
