THE KEY TO SAFEKEEPING

Romans 6:13-14 (NKJV)

“…but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you…”

The conclusion is that sin has no dominion or control over us. Sin will try to pull us back into its clutches of filth and try to renew its covenant of death with us, but so long as we continually present ourselves to God, sin has no pathway of penetration. This is the key to remaining triumphant over the attempts of sin. Whatever we commit to God, He is able to keep and preserve. If we become self-reliant and become self-confident, and we do not consciously present ourselves to Him for safe keeping, the wiles and deceptions of hell may succeed to encroach once again on our turf.

Sin does not have a greater power than God. If I repeatedly lift and place my entire being into God’s hand, there is no way sin can have dominion. Sin looks for gaps in our humanity, and the only way to safe guard ourselves from ourselves is to present our human faculties to God for safekeeping.

“Lord, I lift my life again into Your hands. I am not safe in myself, because I do not trust myself. Keep me safe as I present myself to You every day, in Jesus name. Amen.”
