ACCEPT A NEW MARRIAGE

May 26, 2019

Romans 7:3 (NKJV)

“So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man.”

The law was not the old husband or the fruit of the old marriage. Sin was the old husband, and the old passions and unclean behaviors were the children of that marriage to sin. The law was simply the midwife that handled the child that my marriage produced. So we cannot blame the law for anything. Now however, we have become “dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you (we) may be married to another —to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.” Our fruit to God is because our old husband died and we legitimately married a new, one through whom our union produced godly fruit.

The law is the religion that monitored and revealed our deadness. The law did not produce it, but the law manifested it. Our old marriage produced it but since it was hidden away, the law brought it into the forefront. But now, through our new marriage to Christ, we have been freed from the old system of sin and law, and we presently have the joy of having, (NLT, verse 6) “the new way of living in the Spirit.” I am now by law, legally remarried and I am legally bearing new beautiful fruit. Halleluya.

“Lord, thank You for accepting to marry me, for by this great act of love and mercy, I am able to produce godly children that showcase Your glory. Amen.”
