PRACTICAL EVIDENCE (18)

Romans 8:26-27 (NKJV) (quote verse 34)

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us…Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

The true child of God knows his weaknesses and does not pretend that they are not there. The true believer knows he needs help and confesses it openly before God and men. The self-made man who thinks he does not need help does not know himself, neither does he know God. The false spiritual brother who anchors his sustenance and prosperity on his prayer effort is really misled because even his prayer life is insufficient to cover for his weaknesses. We are weak and that is why we cling to the Spirit of God for help.

But praise God. We who are in Christ have the Holy Spirit helping our infirmities and human frailties. The Holy Spirit Himself makes intercession for us before God. “And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.” – NLT. Isn’t that amazing? The spiritual man knows he needs help and as he cries out to God, the Holy Spirit takes over and prays for him in line with God’s will for him. Are we not extremely blessed, we who choose to remain in Christ and walk with the Spirit?

“Thank You Holy Spirit for upholding me in prayers, even before the presence of God, ensuring that my life conforms to God’s will for my life. Amen.”
