Romans 10:10 (NKJV)
“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Belief must come before action. Faith must precede confession. What we believe in our hearts is what ignites the results that come from our actions. For regeneration to happen to any life, he must believe on the work of Christ, and then declare his belief to men. Only total belief in His death and resurrection for our sins will unlock the resources of heaven to lead us away from the captivity of death. Regeneration is the outworking of salvation, and regeneration is the transforming evidence that a life has been saved.
Confession of faith before men is the act of confirming what we say we believe in our heart. For whatever we believe is yet untested and unproven until it is confessed, and then the words we speak become the external evidence of truth. Salvation is confirmed when we speak it out. But not just for salvation, in whatever righteous things we believe in our heart, we need to step out in faith and confess them before others, as this process ignites the action that brings to reality what we believe. Secretly believing and refusing to make our faith known, limits the possibilities of what God would have done in and through us. Speak what your heart believes and give God the opportunity to validate your conviction.
“I believe You Lord, and I hope in You Lord. May I never keep my convictions in my heart, but take the risk of bringing them out into the open. In Jesus name. Amen.”
