ONLY BLESS

Romans 12:14 (NKJV)

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.”

If we bear the nature of the Messiah, we are called to bless mankind. Jesus went through all He went through but still loved humanity. He was an embodiment of love, and even when people hated Him, He still loved them. Of course, He declared “Woes” to those who knew the truth but chose to pervert it, yet that woe was not a curse but a description of their present state and their future judgement if they did not repent. Jesus loved His enemies. He loved Judas. He loved His disciples who betrayed Him. We are called to be like Him; to only bless.

Let’s trust God to do good irrespective of what men do to us. “Never pay back evil with more evil…Never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God.” – v17, 19 (NLT). God is the One who will finally judge. Don’t do it for Him. It may look like it’s slow but He is the God of Justice. Only trust Him. When we repay evil with evil, we are changing our DNA and taking on Satan’s DNA to repay Satan. It will backfire. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to live in the nature of Jesus, and that is to bless. Despite the pain we feel from those who persecute and betray us, may we live the life of Christ in His fulness by choosing to bless mankind and not curse them. Amen.

“This is hard Lord, but Your love compels us to bless all men. Lord, help me never to respond in pain by choosing to payback evil with evil. Control my heart always Lord, in Jesus name. Amen.”
