THE PURPOSE OF PROSPERITY

August 31, 2023

1 Samuel 2:8 (NKJV)

“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He has set the world upon them.”

Why does God prosper His people? Why does He raise the poor from the dust and the beggar from the ash heap? God only has one purpose for doing all this. God wants to display His glory. God wants to lift men up so that they can, in turn, manifest and give glory to God. One of the greatest ironies of life is that men refuse to give glory to God after He shows them mercy and promotes them. They turn around and take the glory for themselves; and, sometimes, even use it directly to serve Satan.

All the earth is the Lord’s. When He chooses to prosper us, let us turn around and use these resources to honor Him and establish His praise on the earth. Don’t hug the blessings. Don’t tie it down to you and your family. Release it for His glory. Use it to spread His glory. Make the world know that He made you prosper. Let the work of God prosper because He has prospered you. May the Lord never regret bringing us out of the dust and ash heap. Amen.
