1 Samuel 4:1 (NKJV)

“And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out to battle against the Philistines, and encamped beside Ebenezer; and the Philistines encamped in Aphek.”

When God does a deep work in a man’s life, his voice becomes the voice of God. It is actually scary to imagine that a man can speak and it is God who has literally spoken. When God has fully incarnated Himself in us, our words carry the same strength and authority of God’s words. God wants this to happen. It is God’s desire that He is so fully embedded in His people, that their voices become the echoes of His. That is why God rested on the seventh day. For God to rest, He needs His trusted stewards to occupy positions on earth where His voice can come through clearly.

Israel went out to battle because Samuel had spoken. Israel did not need to hear directly from God when Samuel had spoken. Nobody dared question Samuel’s authority or voice. Everyone knew that once Samuel said something, it was from God. What an honor and privilege to be so intimately united with God that men hear God and accept your words as coming directly from Him. This must be the goal of all of God’s holy saints. We are called to speak as God’s oracles. We are called to speak the very words of God. Men should be hearing the resounding echoes of heaven’s whispers when we speak. Is it not foolishness to speak volumes when God has not spoken? Is it not pure failure to speak but nobody listens because they do not hear God in our words? We need to sit still under God until He fully incubates Himself in us. Then our voice will sound in unison with His, and men will respond to the God in us.

“Protect me Lord from useless and empty talks that lack divine unction. May my life be so hidden in Christ that all that flows through my lips can be clearly identified as coming from You, my Lord and King. Only then can I say that I am a good steward of Your grace. Only then am I serving as Your trusted representative on earth. PleaseLord, make my voice perfectly united with Yours. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.”
