YOU WILL ESCAPE!

August 28, 2024

1 Samuel 18:11-12 (NKJV)
“And Saul cast the spear, for he said, ‘I will pin David to the wall!’ But David escaped his presence twice. Now Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with him, but had departed from Saul.”

You will escape, in Jesus name. No matter how hard they try to pin you down, they will never succeed because the Lord is with you to protect and deliver you. Today’s devotion is a prophecy over your life.

Saul’s desires were pure evil, born out of envy and jealousy. He had very devilish plans for David, hoping to catch him unawares. He was poised and ready, but David escaped. Saul’s plans always failed.

Likewise, the sons of darkness have dark desires and wish you evil in their hearts. They seek your death and downfall. But I say again, “They will not succeed.” Why? Because the Lord is with you.

Saul was persistent. He tried to pin David to the wall more than once, but David escaped. He pursued David through the desert, mountains, and caves. But each time, David escaped his wicked hands, for God was with him.

No matter how many times they try, they will continue to fail. Be sensitive to God’s Spirit and move with Him. He will show you what to do and how to overcome, how to escape. Don’t walk blind. Walk with His eyes.

Saul had moved away from the Lord, and the Lord’s Spirit had left him. A new strange spirit was now in charge, guiding his thoughts and actions. It’s this evil spirit that sought to destroy David. It wasn’t Saul.

Be aware that backslidden brethren are the most dangerous because, on the outside, they look okay, but God’s Spirit is not with them. They feel and think things that are far from God’s will. They are easy tools in Satan’s hands.

I must conclude, however, by saying that there will be times when God may not allow us to escape. Like Stephen, He may choose to use our suffering to bring greater glory and fruitfulness. We must accept this as well.
