1 Samuel 22:18
“And the king said to Doeg, ‘You turn and kill the priests!’ So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck the priests, and killed on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod.”
The world rejoices to pull down and ridicule God and His servants. They constantly seek opportunities to strike down anything or anyone who belongs to the Lord. Standing for righteousness has always been dangerous, even more so these days.
We must not join those who strike down the righteous. We must not join those who take pleasure to ridicule and pull down God’s servants. We must resist the urge to criticize them without reason openly.
The world system does not love you. As they seek to destroy God’s servants, they will also turn around and destroy you if you ever stand for righteousness. Since their goal is to destroy God’s people, they will not spare you.
Don’t try to win favors by standing against God’s people. It’ll earn you a curse. You may seem to prosper, but it will be short-lived. Your work will come back and bite you. Standing against God’s servants is standing against God.
Doeg did what all the others dreaded to do. To please King Saul, he “struck the priests and killed eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod.” He did not fear to strike down those who entered the holy place, who stood before God for the nation!!
He also went ahead and struck down “the city of the priests,” killing men and women and children and nursing infants. This is the work of Satan, and Doeg was the instrument of hell. Satan had found a willing servant in Doeg.
Never join those who strike down God’s people. Never join those who delight in striking down God’s servants. Never join those who sit down to mock, criticize, and laugh at God’s people. That’s the wrong team to belong to.
Stand with the Lord. The Lord says, “Touch not my anointed.” Be careful what you say and do against God’s servants lest you bring the wrath of God against you and your household. Disagreeing with them is okay, but don’t strike them down.
