PRAY FOR LARGENESS & VOLUME

March 14, 2026

1 Kings 4:29 (NKJV)
“And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.”

We have been looking at taking responsibility, motivation for service, and God’s design and desire for our lives. Each topic has led to the next as God has been building us as a spiritual house for His glory. Today, we look at the next building block. Largeness.

When God issues a decree or gives an instruction, He also gives the capacity and capabilities needed to carry out the assignment. He not only expresses a desire, but He also makes it possible for us to carry out the desire and design.

What are some capacities we need to function? Let’s look at the example of King Solomon. God gave Solomon three things, but the one word we can use to summarize God’s grace to him is the word, largeness. He gave him grace in large measure.

First, God gave Solomon wisdom. The AMPC version calls it, “exceptionally much wisdom.” For the assignment before you, you don’t just need wisdom, you need “exceptionally much wisdom.” To excel, you need wisdom in large volumes.

Secondly, God gave Solomon “exceedingly great understanding.” Again, we see that there was volume in the amount of understanding he received from the Lord. You cannot thrive and fulfill God’s purpose without large volumes of this grace.

Thirdly, God gave Solomon “largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.” Wow! Can you imagine having a heart as wide as the sand on the seashore? This is heavenly capacity. This is divine scope. This is largeness.

Note the repeating expressions: largeness, exceedingly great, exceptionally much. To succeed in your calling and in your assignment, you cannot have small portions of grace. Don’t be satisfied with smallness. Ask for volume. The last days require this capacity.

God knew the scope of the assignment He was giving Solomon (verse 34), and before He even started his kingship, God went ahead of him and endowed him with the powers and graces needed to be effective. God did not leave him without capacity to function.

There is capacity in God for you to function. There is a large capacity. God is not a wicked God. He will give you large portions so that you will serve Him with ease. It is not God’s will that we feel abandoned or incapacitated in the task of God.

So, pray with boldness and faith. Pray for largeness and volume of grace. If you don’t know what to ask for, pray for the things God gave Solomon, namely, “exceptionally much wisdom, exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart.” Amen.
