\u201cAnd if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s a wonderful privilege that God broke off some of the legitimate branches so that I may be grafted in. This is amazing. And even though I was not of the same specie as the tree, the grafting in worked and I was able to benefit from the fatness of the olive tree, spring up from the root. What extreme privilege I have received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who am I? I am a wild olive tree, useless and brittle, barren and of no value to a thing or anyone. And for reasons which I cannot explain, I was grafted into a perfect, fruit-bearing olive tree, so that I have been receiving life in place of my death. I did nothing to deserve this grafting in. The Lord looked on me with love and from love, He took the incredulous action of breaking off some branches to make room for me. Isn\u2019t that amazing? Isn\u2019t that an inexplicable act of love? How can I not love Him for the rest of my life, bearing fruit to His glory, seeing I am daily drawing life from the fatness of His roots? I was a wild and barren olive tree who has received life and fruitfulness from the graciousness of my Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
