\u201cFor rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the normal context, rulers should be in support of good works and not evil works so that if we do good works, we should have no fear of authorities. That is the correct thing, but that\u2019s not usually what happens. Unfortunately, many authorities are on the side of evil and they fight those who stand for righteousness. For this reason, doing evil in some cases is what preserves you from punishment and doing good attracts harsh penalties from those who should have encouraged you. This is the warped world we live in under perverted authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What must we do? We need to keep doing good irrespective of the consequences, and we must never be afraid of any authority on earth. If doing good and standing for truth will attract penalties, then we need to brace ourselves for it. Praise God when we do good and receive praise for it. But praise God also when we do good and receive punishment for it. On no condition should we bend to practice evil so as to please those in authority. If they do not like our stand for truth, then we have nothing else to do and nowhere else to turn. We cannot deny ourselves or our God, and even if it brings shame, we will gladly bear with it rather than please unrighteous leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLord, I will only do what is right even if leaders disagree with me. If their response to me is positive, I praise You, but if their response to my stand for truth is negative, I will also praise You.
