In the Christian Faith, we need to center all our discussions on what really are the signs that define the Spirit filled believer or the man whom God has approved in Christ. It is possible to have all the correct doctrines and yet not be a child of God. How do we know the accepted child of Adam? How do we know who has the presence of God living in Him? There are three non-negotiable signs. Look out for these in your life.

The first is “living a life of goodness.” The man of God who has the presence of God is a good man. He manifests goodness. He is seen as good, shows goodness and loves goodness. The second sign is “living a life of peace.” Jesus taught that peacemakers are blessed and they are to be called the children of God. The Spirit-filled believer is a man of peace; he has peace, he gives peace, he maintains peace. Finally, the third sign is, “living in the joy of the Holy Spirit.” This joy is not tied to anything human, but flows from the throne of God. The man who knows God is filled with a type of inner joy that nobody and no earthly circumstance can take away. He overflows with and radiates joy. These are the core signs of the true child of God. Pray them into your life. Use these parameters to assess your walk with God. Focus on discussing these things, for these are the stuff of the Kingdom.

“Oh Lord, may I fully manifest these three things. May I regularly check to ensure that I am overflowing with Your joy, that I am giving peace to everyone around me because my heart is full of Your peace, and that I am demonstrating God’s goodness to my generation. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.”

Romans 14:17 (NLT) “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” We spend so much energy debating and struggling over all the wrong things.
