So this devotion is not about us changing names to affect our destinies. But, there’s a place for giving a unique name to someone or something as a remembrance or testimony of God’s goodness. If you want to keep God in your thoughts, surround yourself with names that testify of Him. For example, the name you call a person or a place or a thing will always evoke a memory and a thought, and if the name is a positive God-glorifying name, then your thoughts will be infused with the memories of God’s faithfulness ever more often.

Hannah called her son, SAMUEL, because she had asked the Lord for a son, and He had heard her cry. Every time she calls his name, Samuel, she would also remember God’s Almighty Who came to her rescue. Let’s, therefore, develop the good habit of marking our journey with God by placing around us, names that draw us closer to Him.

“Lord, I know it’s not in the name, but if I have an opportunity to choose names for anything or anyone, please remind me to choose names that honor You or display Your faithfulness.
