1 Samuel 2:12 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNow the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the Lord.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The problem with organized religious systems is that it is possible to have men who know the practice of religion, but who do not know God. It is sad to see people occupy positions of authority in the House of God and yet they are personally far from God. This is one of the most painful things about Christianity. There are so many people who are leaders and yet they are very corrupt and distant from God. They continue to stand before men as the voice of God while they have detestable secret lives. Men of filth occupy positions that should belong to the devout and the faithful. But this will only be for a season. They will be replaced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Part of our cry is that God should uproot the corrupt who occupy the chambers of church leadership. We earnestly cry for God to raise devout men and women who fear Him, who know Him and who will honor Him when they occupy the corridors of power. We should not seek prominence or leadership, until we are deeply rooted in God. Power corrupts and as the saying goes, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Many have derailed because they got intoxicated by power. They were no longer subject to correction and accountability. This must never be our experience. We need to anchor our lives in God and as we grow in leadership and ministry, we need to constantly keep a watch on our barometer of closeness to Christ, and closeness to accountability partners. Leadership is dangerous and we need to anchor our lives correctly as we grow in influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLord, don\u2019t promote me if You know that I am not ready. Don\u2019t raise me up into something that will take me away from You. Don\u2019t expose me to things that will pull my heart away from the center of Your flame. Let my growth in You exceed my growth in ministry. In Jesus name.
