\u201cNow the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n One of our greatest needs is a deep revelation from God\u2019s Word. What we need are not more eloquent or charismatic preachers. What we need are not more miracle workers. What we need are not more rich or powerful men or women of God. What we need are people with spiritual authority that is derived from God\u2019s Word. What we need are people who have spiritual eyes and ears that see and hear from God\u2019s perspective. What we need are committed stewards of the grace of interpreting God\u2019s Word to a hungry and distracted generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once sin had crept into their worship system, the Word of the Lord became rare. Once Eli\u2019s sons had become content with worldly pleasures, they no longer sought for divine revelations. Once religion had come to replace God, the system became automated and could run without any heavenly intervention. May that never become of the Church in our generation, although we seem to be quickly sliding into that sphere. We need God. We desperately need more of His \u201cwidespread revelation.\u201d<\/em> We need God to regularly speak, openly, and directly to His people. God\u2019s visitation needs to be something that almost every Believer should be experiencing. This is God\u2019s Will for His Church. But we must hunger for it. We must turn away from wanton pleasures. We must seek His face most earnestly. We must dig into His Word for His revelation. Satisfaction, when we do not have God\u2019s divine visitation, is the cancer of the modern-day church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLord, deliver us from this cancer. We do not have widespread divine revelation, but we are still satisfied with the gymnastics of superficial preachers. Oh, Lord, revisit us. Let Your Word not be rare. Come Holy Spirit. We need You. Come and show us our King again. We plead for this and earnestly beg for it. In Your name, we pray.
