1 Samuel 3:18 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThen Samuel told him everything, and hid nothing from him. And he said, \u2018It is the Lord. Let Him do what seems good to Him.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n God is God and His will is best and will always come to pass. There are times the will of God does not suit our personal desires, but we need to always believe that He knows best. God makes His decisions in His sovereignty and for His glory. Although through our intercession and appeals, God could change His mind, however, where He chooses not to, there is nothing we can do about it. He is God!<\/p>\n\n\n\n When Samuel finally told Eli what the Lord had told him, Eli did not struggle with God or with Samuel. Eli surrendered to the sovereignty of God\u2019s will. Why? Because he knew that God is not wicked. He is not unjust. He does not make mistakes. These must have been the reasons why Eli did not appeal or feel he needed to go to God for redress. He simply accepted it by faith. I sometimes wish that Eli had appealed. Peradventure, the terrible pronouncements may have been altered. But Eli didn\u2019t. If God makes what seems like an unfavorable decree towards you, don\u2019t be silent. Ask Him why? Appeal for redress. Repent quickly where necessary. And follow His subsequent instructions. Submit to God\u2019s sovereign will \u2013 but where you can and if necessary, seek for His mercies and compassions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLord, I accept Your goodness and Your sovereignty. I ask that You always balance both with me, Lord. Deal with me in Your mercy and goodness, and let Your sovereignty supernaturally override my failures. And lead me to the place of repentance and starting afresh with You. Thank You for hearing me. In Jesus\u2019 name.
