Matthew 6:32<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Jesus, the mark of a Gentile is clear, and you can identify the Gentile by the things he pursues after and worries about. The Gentiles are constantly seeking the issues of this life, always worried about what to eat, what to wear, and how to survive. Now, Jesus is not saying that these things are not important, He is only saying that as children of the Kingdom, we should not seek after or live by these pursuits. Jesus asked a fundamental question, which every believer must answer truthfully, \u201cIsn\u2019t life more than these things?\u201d (Verse 25).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life indeed is more than what we eat and what we drink. Life is much more. The good news is that our Heavenly Father knows we need these things and He is committed to meeting our needs. If He cares for the grass and the lilies, how much more does He care for us, His children? He will take care of us and even when things are tough for a season; we must not lose focus on His promises that He will take care of us. God will take care of us. Worrying and pursuing the things of this world is a sign of faithlessness. We must live by a higher standard and a higher calling. We must pursue God and the things of His Kingdom relentlessly and leave the provision of our needs to Him. Our salaries and our channels of income must never be confused with our Source. Our Source is God, and when physical channels may dry up, the Source never does. We are not Gentiles, and we must not live like Gentile unbelievers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFather, I am not a Gentile, and I refuse to live like a Gentile. I am a son in Your Kingdom, and You are my good Father. I refuse to fret or fear or pursue what others chase after. I will seek first the Kingdom, and I know that all other things will be added to me. Give me peace in Your goodness and faithfulness, in Jesus name.
