{"id":3672,"date":"2018-03-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-03-20T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.org\/?p=3672"},"modified":"2024-08-23T15:09:08","modified_gmt":"2024-08-23T15:09:08","slug":"dealing-with-leprosy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.org\/index.php\/2018\/03\/20\/dealing-with-leprosy\/","title":{"rendered":"DEALING WITH LEPROSY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Matthew 8:3&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThen Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, \u2018I am willing; be cleansed.\u2019 Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leprosy is an eyesore. Leprosy contaminates. Leprosy spreads. Leprosy infects. And we need to be careful to know if we carry any form of leprosy in our lives. Those with leprosy were usually ostracized and cut off from the community of healthy people. And so, it is with spiritual leprosy. When we contract the spiritual disease of infectious sins, we are cut off from the community of the heavenly saints. This, however, need not be a permanent condition because God loves the leper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God wants to get involved with the spiritual leper. That infectious disease that has ostracized you from heaven\u2019s community can be removed once we call on Jesus to help. The only reason we may remain in our infected state is because we have not called out. Once the leper called out to Jesus, Jesus healed him immediately. Jesus does not joke with spiritual leprosy. He engages and purifies the leper immediately. There are other things that Jesus may be slow in responding, but when a sinner cries to God for help, there is usually no delay in His response. Whenever we discover some sort of leprosy creeping into our system, let\u2019s be quick to cry out for help. The Risen Savior is close by and will heal immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThank you, Jesus, for the speed and compassion with which You heal our spiritual diseases. Thank You because You don\u2019t leave us with our putrefying sores, ostracized from heaven\u2019s community. Thank You for the speed and diligence with which You deal with our sinful habits, whenever we call on You. Provoke me to call on You ever so quickly whenever I become contaminated. In your name, I pray.
